What Air Modul Basic is
Picture an agency desk. A traveller asks for a flight next week and wants to know what happens if the plan changes. A colleague who knows Amadeus answers from the system, straight away. That is the work you practise on this course.
Amadeus is a global distribution system (GDS) in which travel agencies search for flights and build reservations, and Air Modul Basic (Amadeus Basic) teaches you the basics of that system and of air travel, so that after the course you can use it on your own and with confidence.
The course runs for 40 hours over five days, 23–27 November 2026, at the Travel & Technology Hub, Gacka 16, Zagreb.
What you will learn
The programme covers the following areas, and you will meet each of them in real reservation work.
- What Amadeus is and how you work in it.
- Air travel terms that the system and your colleagues use every day.
- Searching for flights and finding good fares for a traveller.
- Creating reservations and changing them when the plan changes.
- Issuing airline tickets in Amadeus.
- Fare rules: what a ticket allows, for example a change or a refund.
- Risky reservation situations and how to spot them while they can still be avoided.
- Special requests, for example a special meal for a passenger.
- EMDs, the electronic documents used to charge for extra services on top of a ticket.
The course starts from the basics, so you do not need to know Amadeus beforehand.

How you learn and what you receive at the end
Classes run every day from 08:00 to 16:00 and combine theory with practice. A reservation system is learned by working in it, and the course totals 40 hours of theory and practice over five days.
Our instructors have more than 20 years of experience in aviation and tourism, so they know the job they are preparing you for.
The course ends with a practical test, and participants receive a certificate of completion. It is issued by Ulix, an IATA-certified travel agency. The certificate confirms that you completed the training with us.
Who the course is for and what you need
The course is for people starting a career in tourism, and for staff of travel agencies, airlines and airports who want to understand Amadeus better. For an overview of the programmes, see the Academy page, and for how learning is organised, see Travel Management Academy.
Two things are needed.
- Good English. The system is in English.
- Your own laptop. If you do not have one, tell us in advance and we will arrange one for you.
The programme is intensive. Five days of eight hours ask for attendance and concentration, so keep that week free in advance.
